The Town of Kwinana is spread across 120 square kilometres and is comprised of 15 suburbs. We are going to take a look at one of the newer suburbs in the Town – Bertram.
Bertram is a thriving suburb located adjacent to the Kwinana Freeway. It offers a lot of new homes and is a destination point for young families. Within Bertram there is an established state primary school and there is also a private school Kings College which continues to grow and offers schooling from kindergarten through to Year 12.
There are currently some great facilities within the suburb of Bertram. It has an established shopping centre offering 7 day a week shopping as well as several dining options including the popular Fishy Fishy take-away shop.
Close to this shopping centre construction is about to commence on a new community centre.
Final funding for this community centre was secured in late 2011 and after public consultation a design has been settled on. It is hoped that building will commence in 2013. The community centre will be a single story building offering a meeting place for many community groups including playgroups and health workers.
As well as established facilities the suburb of Bertram offers a huge variety of outdoor recreation activities with both established parks and wetlands available for use. All of these add to the attractiveness of this suburb within the Town of Kwinana.
